Virgin Galactic announced Sarah Kim will join the company as executive vice president, chief legal officer and corporate secretary, effective Dec. 5.
Kim joins the spaceflight company from Topgolf Callaway Brands, where she served for nearly four years as general counsel, corporate secretary, chief ethics officer and compliance officer.
Before joining Topgolf Callaway, Kim served as Associate General Counsel for Petco, where she operated as lead counsel for several of the company’s most complex and innovative business units.
Kim also served as senior corporate counsel at DJO Global, an American medical device manufacturing company.

Arbol
The global climate risk solutions platform announced Matthew Gabin has joined the company as chief legal officer and deputy chief operating officer.
Gabin joins Arbol from Swiss Re, where he counseled their weather risk and commodity trading businesses.
Prior to Swiss Re, Gabin counseled (re)insurers, investment firms and corporates at Mayer Brown. He also spent nearly a decade providing legal and operational advice on alternative risk transfer to Allianz Risk Transfer.

ImmunoGen
The biotechnology company announced it has appointed Daniel Char as senior vice president and chief legal officer.
Char joins ImmunoGen from Evelo Biosciences, where he served as general counsel and secretary for nearly five years. Prior to joining Evelo, Char was associate general counsel and assistant secretary at Smith+Nephew.
He also previously served as general counsel and secretary at Targanta Therapeutics, senior associate general counsel at Idenix Pharmaceuticals and associate general counsel at Biogen.

Universal Engineering Sciences
The engineering and consulting company announced it has appointed Benjamin Butterfield as general counsel.
Butterfield most recently served for roughly three years as SVP and general counsel of APTIM, a global provider of integrated services.
Prior to his role at APTIM, Butterfield served as chair of the corporate and securities practice group at Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, general corporate law, and complex commercial agreements.

Falcon Capital Advisors
The business advisory firm announced that Kara Ward has joined the company as general counsel and managing director.
Ward brings more than 14 years of experience in banking, finance, housing, as well as knowledge of the legislative and regulatory processes.
Ward's prior experience includes time as a partner at Holland & Knight, counsel at Venable, and associate at K&L Gates. She also worked as an attorney-advisor at the Office of the General Counsel, Banking & Finance Division of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
