DailyPay, the on-demand pay solution provider, announced it has named Jared DeMatteis its first chief legal and strategy officer.
DeMatteis most recently served as chief legal officer and chief compliance officer at WeWork, following a stint serving as the company’s GC. He led an international department of hundreds of legal personnel.
DeMatteis also previously held positions at the law firms WilmerHale and Cravath, Swaine & Moore.

U-Haul
The do-it-yourself moving company announced Kristine Campbell has been promoted to general counsel, effective May 12.
Campbell, who joined the U-Haul Legal team in 2011, has worked as director of litigation since 2020. She previously served as an assistant general counsel for nine years.
Prior to joining U-Haul, Campbell was a member of the class action legal team at Greenberg Traurig in Phoenix.
"Kristine has many years of U-Haul know-how that will serve her well in this new role," U-Haul CEO Joe Shoen said.
Levi Strauss & Co.
The global brand-name apparel company announced that David Jedrzejek has been promoted to general counsel, effective June 2.
Jedrzejek has been with Levi Strauss & Co. for seven years and currently serves as deputy general counsel with responsibility for the commercial legal team.
Before joining the company, Jedrzejek was associate general counsel at Gap. He also previously worked at the law firms Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman.

JumpCloud
The cloud directory company announced it has named Jill Passalacqua as its chief legal officer.
Prior to joining JumpCloud, Passalacqua served as general counsel at Harness, a continuous Delivery-as-a-Service platform for engineering and DevOps teams.
Passalacqua also previously spent more than 20 years in various leadership roles at Avi Networks, FireEye and NetApp.

Smithfield Foods
The U.S. food company announced it has promoted Tennille Checkovich to general counsel.
Checkovich, a 20-year veteran of litigation and risk mitigation, joined Smithfield in 2020. She most recently served as the company's deputy general counsel for litigation.
Prior to joining Smithfield, Checkovich was an equity partner at McGuireWoods in its business and securities litigation department. She also previously served as an attorney at Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York, handling securities litigation and white-collar defense issues for Fortune 100 public companies.
