Intel announced it has named April Miller Boise as its executive vice president and chief legal officer effective July 6.
Miller Boise joins Intel from Eaton Corp., where since 2020 she served as executive vice president and chief legal officer.
Miller Boise’s other previous experience includes serving as chief legal officer for Meritor, general counsel for Veyance Technologies and working for 11 years at the Thompson Hine law firm.
“With more than 25 years of experience across global markets and several industries, April is the rare combination of innovative business leader and talented attorney,” Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger said. “Our ambitious goals for Intel are set against an increasingly complex legal and policy environment, and April’s breadth of skills and experience make her a critical addition to our leadership team as we pursue the largest transformation in the company’s history.”

The San Francisco-based Fintech company announced it has appointed Aileen Casanave as general counsel, a role in which she will oversee and manage the company’s regulatory and compliance matters.
Casanave has previously served as general counsel or has held senior legal positions at several Silicon Valley companies including Jiff, TIBCO, Sun Microsystems and Lockheed Martin. She has 30-plus years of legal and business experience in technology commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, intellectual property and corporate governance.
Nadim Homsany, EarnUp’s co-founder and CEO, said Casanave and other new executive team members announced at the same time will help “drive the company’s next round of growth.”

The Toronto-based security and privacy company announced it has named Erin Zipes its first chief legal officer.
Zipes was previously the vice president, assistant general counsel at Shopify, where she helped to take the company public and built the company's corporate legal team to support strong growth. During her time at Shopify, Zipes also joined nine other women to found the angel investing collective, Backbone Angels, which is dedicated to funding and empowering women and non-binary founders.
"Erin's commitment to building a diverse, inclusive and business-focused legal function, as well as experience leading Shopify through their IPO, will be essential to fuel our trajectory,” said 1Password CEO Jeff Shiner.
PDS Biotechnology
The clinical-stage immunotherapy company announced it has named Spencer Brown senior vice president and general counsel.
Brown has extensive legal affairs and compliance experience leading biotechnology, healthcare and pharmaceutical companies. Prior to joining PDS Biotech, he served as senior vice president, legal affairs and compliance officer at Aclaris Therapeutics.
“His extensive experience in biotech and life science companies will solidify our legal and compliance strategy,” said PDS Biotech CEO, Frank Bedu-Addo.
California Medical Association
The association representing California physicians announced Jamie Ostroff will serve as its chief legal officer and general counsel.
Prior to joining CMA, Ostroff served as the chief legal and compliance officer of Hill Physicians Medical Group, the largest independent physician group in Northern California. Before that, Ostroff was associate general counsel at Blue Shield of California.
