Tidal Partners, a new mergers and acquisition advisory firm, announced Elizabeth Hyon has joined the company as chief operating officer and chief legal officer.
Hyon joins the firm from Barclays, where she spent 10-plus years on their legal team, most recently as America’s head of investment banking litigation. Prior to Barclays, Hyon worked as an associate at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.

Glass House Brands
The vertically integrated cannabis company announced the appointment of Benjamin Vega as general counsel and corporate secretary, effective Oct. 24.
Vega brings over 20 years of experience as a corporate lawyer across a broad range of industries, including serving as deputy general counsel for the animal health company Covetrus.
He has also served as general counsel for Manhattan West and for the Meruelo Group, as well as worked as senior counsel at Sony Pictures Entertainment.

The Frick Collection
The art museum in New York City has hired Alexis Sandler as general counsel, the search firm Major, Lindsey & Africa announced in a press release about the placement.
Sandler most recently served as vice president and general counsel for Pace University, a position she started earlier this year.
Prior to Pace, she spent nearly a decade with The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), most recently as associate general counsel and secretary of the board for MoMA PS1.
“We look forward to welcoming Alexis aboard the staff of the Frick, where her legal experience in arts, entertainment, and educational organizations will prove invaluable,” leaders of the museum said in a statement.
Synergy One Lending
The San Diego-based lender announced the hiring of Rob Shockley as EVP and general counsel.
Shockley’s 30-plus year career has included time both as a practicing attorney and in multiple leadership positions in the mortgage industry. He most recently worked as SVP, production at Academy Mortgage.

Ranger Energy Services
The company serving the U.S. oil and gas industry announced the appointment of Justin Whitley to the position of general counsel and corporate secretary, effective Oct. 24.
Whitley brings nearly two decades of legal experience in the oil and gas industry, including most recently serving as deputy general counsel for Parker Wellbore.
He also served as litigation counsel at law firms in Houston, including Winstead PC, representing a diverse group of clients in energy, commercial, and other matters.
