Workbox, the Chicago-based specialized flexible office operator, announced the hiring of Kristen Benson as the company's first executive vice president, general counsel.
Prior to joining Workbox, Benson served as the EVP, general counsel and corporate secretary at Care Capital Properties, a $4 billion publicly traded healthcare real estate investment trust.
Benson also previously held various positions of increasing responsibility within Ventas and began her professional career as an associate at the Sidley Austin law firm.
“Kristen possesses a wealth of institutional knowledge and her experience in real estate will be critical to us successfully reimagining the flex operator and landlord relationship in this new era of work," said John Wallace, CEO and co-founder of Workbox.
Invariant
The government relations and communications firm announced Gloria Labbad has joined the organization as a principal and general counsel.
Labbad joins Invariant from FGS Global, where she served as a partner and the firm’s corporate counsel.
Labbad’s work spans a wide range of industries, including financial services, technology, retail, real estate, insurance, healthcare, media and manufacturing.

iPipeline
The digitized ecosystem for the life insurance and wealth management industries announced it has hired George McDonnell as general counsel.
Before joining iPipeline, McDonnell was corporate counsel for PowerPlan, a software application firm focused on the energy sector.
Prior to that, McDonnell spent 10 years on active duty as a judge advocate in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving as a prosecutor and a forward-deployed operational law advisor for all U.S. and international special operations forces in Afghanistan.
He also served as deputy general counsel for the Marine Corps' enterprise-level logistics command.
Sabre
The software and technology provider in the travel industry announced the hiring of Ann Bruder as the company’s executive vice president and chief legal officer.
Bruder joins Sabre from Avantax, formerly Blucora, where she served as chief legal, development & administrative officer for three years.
Prior to that role, she served as vice president and general counsel of Airlines Reporting Corporation, or ARC, a leading provider of data, products and services to the travel industry.

Cordance
The company supporting the growth of B2B SaaS companies announced the hiring of Ellen Samuels as general counsel.
Samuels brings more than 25 years of experience as a technology attorney to her new role.
Most recently, she served as the first general counsel at Community Brands, a provider of SaaS software to mission-driven associations.
“My goal is to help the leadership team execute on our vision by providing Cordance and its family of B2B SaaS businesses the legal and operational support they need to grow and succeed,” Samuels said.
