The Corporate Legal Operations Consortium (CLOC) has welcomed three legal operations leaders as new members of its board for 2023 and named a new vice president.
The incoming board members are Laura Dieudonné of Delta Airlines, Adam Becker of Cockroach Labs and Frances Pomposo of Splunk, CLOC announced on Thursday. Pomposo will also serve as treasurer for the 5,000-plus member organization.
“Each appointee has a tremendous record of business achievement, and we look forward to their significant contributions to our board and CLOC’s mission,” said Mike Haven, CLOC’s president and head of legal operations at Intel.
Board member Farrah Pepper, who is chief legal innovation counsel at Marsh & McLennan, has been named CLOC’s vice president.
“The vice president and treasurer roles are critical to the continued success of CLOC, and we look forward to the expertise these outstanding professionals will offer to the organization, our members and the industry,” Haven said.
Frances Pomposo
Pomposo is the vice president of legal and government affairs strategy and operations and chief of staff to the general counsel at Splunk, the data platform company.
Prior to Splunk, Pomposo was senior director of legal operations and chief of staff to the general counsel at Workday.
She also previously worked as head of legal operations and chief of staff to the general counsel at Lyft and managed legal operations at Adobe.
Pomposo has been a CLOC member since its “book club” days and has served as CLOC Bay Area Regional Group lead and lead of the Emerging Legal Departments Group.
Laura Dieudonné
Dieudonné, who joined Delta’s law department in 2015, is the airline’s legal operations and administration director.
She serves as a chairperson on the Delta law department’s Operations and Technology Committee.
Prior to joining Delta, Dieudonné held leadership positions with the law firms Ogletree Deakins, Fisher Phillips, Orrick and Pillsbury Winthrop.
Since joining CLOC in 2016, she has served in various leadership roles, including as the CLOC Atlanta Regional Group lead. She also has served on the organization’s Scholarship Committee and its Education Advisory Council.
Adam Becker
Becker is the director of legal operations at Cockroach Labs, the startup behind CockroachDB, a distributed SQL database.
Previously, he was vice president and director of legal operations at Endeavor and his first in-house legal operations role was at MetLife. He was the life insurer’s assistant vice president of legal operations for the U.S. legal department.
Becker also spent a decade working in law firms focusing on operations and management, professional development and recruiting.
He has been a CLOC member since 2016, serving on the organization’s Education Advisory Council and as CLOC New York Regional Group lead.
Other board changes
As part of the board transition, Chris Coats of Oracle stepped down from the panel on December 31, 2022.
In addition, Lisa Konie has stepped down from the board and is now leading the CLOC staff as interim executive director. She stepped into the interim role after Betsi Roach stepped down from the executive director position, a move announced late last year.
“I’m thrilled to see our CLOC leadership at full strength as we begin the year,” said Konie, who previously held legal operations leadership roles at Adobe. “We are deeply grateful to Chris for the incredible contributions she made as a founding member of the board and, since 2016, as our chief financial officer.”
“Certainly, our new members have some big shoes to fill, but they’re more than up to the task,” Konie continued. “With Mike as president, Farrah as vice president and Frances as treasurer, we have an exceptional leadership team who are eager to continue growing and developing our organization.”
