The insurance company announced the appointment of Christine “Chris” DeBiase as executive vice president, chief legal officer, general counsel and corporate secretary, effective Jan. 3.
DeBiase brings more than 25 years of insurance industry and legal experience to her new role. She joins Allstate from Brighthouse Financial, where she was executive vice president, chief administrative officer and general counsel.
DeBiase joined Brighthouse in 2017 after 20 years with MetLife, including time serving as senior vice president, general counsel of Americas Legal. She as also served as VP and corporate secretary.

Avant
The credit-first fintech announced the appointment of Ryan Lawrence as the company’s general counsel.
Lawrence brings to the position more than 16 years of leadership experience across multiple public companies and at the Mayer Brown law firm.
Most recently, he served as general counsel at Shift Technologies. He also worked in-house at Cushman & Wakefield, Royal Caribbean and Textura.

Unity
The real-time 3D (RT3D) content company announced the appointment of Anirma Gupta as senior vice president and general counsel.
Gupta most recently served as chief legal officer at Carbon, the digital manufacturing company, for two years.
Prior to Carbon, Gupta was general counsel, chief compliance officer and corporate secretary at Tanium. She also served as deputy general counsel at Intuit during her 10-plus years at the company.

The SaaS engagement platform announced it has promoted Lisa Gilley to chief legal officer.
Gilley most recently served as Higher Logic’s first general counsel for three-plus years.
Prior to joining Higher Logic, Gilley served as general counsel for Phase2, an open-source software services company/digital agency.

The health technology company announced Lloyd Fiorini has joined the company as general counsel and chief compliance officer.
Fiorini joined Capital Rx from UnitedHealth Group's OptumRx, where he served as deputy general counsel.
His background in healthcare legal affairs also includes posts as vice president of healthcare (legal) at Walgreens and vice president and legal counsel at CVS Caremark.
